Mezcal Xija (Dshi-já) is author mezcal, from the Tlacolula Valley, Oaxaca, Mexico, where the master recreates the artisanal tradition of the agave distillation, making a creative simbiosis blending tradicional principles with production forms and sustainable techniques, with a high-quality, unique and contemporary style. The term “author mezcal” is very recent, and may be the result of the difficulties experienced by the voracious production and marketing of this beverage, as a way to defend the Origin denomination, and as a producer response, who knows the big treasure that represents this ancient tradition. It expresses creative maturity, respect for culture and a politic statement of a limited production: quality, good taste and mystical evocation of the singularity of the originary cultures from the producing regions of mezcal.
